Metalsmithing 101 Returns! (A 4-part series in September)
Want to learn to make jewelry? This beginner friendly introductory metalsmithing course teaches the basics skills involved in making your own jewelry. Learn to use a variety of tools and equipment common in a jewelry studio.
This 4-Part series will teach many techniques including sawing, filing, polishing, soldering, textures, and more! $499 plus a $40 materials fee (paid separate at the class)
Class Times: Monday evenings 5:30-9:30 pm 9/4 9/11 9/18 9/25
Students will also have access to 8 “use it or lose it” Open Studio sessions throughout the course to practice their skills. A knowledgable instructor is present during these sessions for questions and safety.
Open Studio Hours: Tu 10-2 Th 2-6 (subject to change)
By the end of the series each students will have at least 2-3 finished jewelry pieces and likely many more!

About Jessica
Jessica has 20+ years of metalsmithing experience! She attended Honolulu Academy of Art in Hawaii as well as the world renowned Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts located in San Francisco. She began her career as a jeweler in a small town near Lake Tahoe taking on repairs and custom work then created her own jewelry line, Bluebird Designs, in 2010. She had a personal studio here at Riverview Station in the River Arts District for many years, then in 2017 began drafting up plans for Ignite Jewelry Studios. Ignite opened it’s doors to the community in 2019. Covid presented a lot of challenges, but Jess persevered and the business has been steadily growing ever since. She’s a great teacher, mom to two littles and a total power house!
